Actress Brea Grant will be joining the cast of Heroes this fall when the new season of the super hero drama begins.

Brea Grant’s casting is bigger news.  She will play a character named Joy on Heroes.  However, Joy will be better known as The Speedster.  I’m willing to bet you can guess what her powers are going to be.  She’s going to be fast, really fast.  Think The Flash.

It’s unclear the exact nature of her character, where she’ll fit into the mythology or how significant a character she will be, but according to TV Guide, The Speedster is “quick on her feet — and adept at getting herself into and out of trouble.”

Britney Spears second stint on How I Met Your Mother. In this episode she plays Abby, a receptonist, who Neil Patrick Harris’ character is dating.

New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce is working as an intern on Howard Stern’s radio show.  Pierce is wanting to go into broadcasting after his career is over.

The Giants linebacker said he was serving as the show’s “intern” because he was interested in a role in broadcasting after his days in the NFL are done.

The Super Bowl champion was subjected to Stern hijinks, answering questions about his sex life and the NFL lifestyle.

Pierce believes teammate Michael Strahan is retiring.  Pierce’s woman, Jocelyn Maldonado Pierce, is the host of ‘Mets Weekly’.

Tom Cruise, who became the butt of countless jokes after jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey’s couch a couple of years ago, is set to return to the Oprah Winfrey Show next month during sweeps.

The show, which will appear in two parts during May sweeps, will celebrate Cruise’s career since his breakout role 25 years ago in Risky Business.

One part will be shot in-studio before a live audience. In the other, Cruise will show Winfrey around his Telluride mountain retreat and do a portion of the interview at the home.

Tune in to see the meeting of two people full of their differing religions.

The cast of Gossip Girl is on the April cover of ‘New York’ magazine.  GG returns tonight (April 21st) on the CW.  The guys on this show are about as feminine as the women.

The show stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle, and Kristen Bell.

Britney Spears is returning to How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris will be so pleased.

“The show is ecstatic and so is Britney,” a source said. “She had so much fun the first time around she really wanted to come back. It was a mutual decision to work together more.”

The singer/actress will do one episode, the source says. Fox studios would not confirm the appearance.

Spears, 26, appeared on the March 24 episode, playing a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who fell for one of the show’s main characters, played by Josh Radnor. She received wide accolades for the spot.

“She was hilarious in the table-read, and I got to see her do the run-through as well, and she was great,” cast member Jason Segel said. –Jennifer Garcia, Nicole Weisensee Egan and Lisa Ingrassia

It is hard to believe but MTV begins its 20th season of The Real World on April 16th.  There are four guys and just three gals on the new season which takes place in Hollywood for the first time.  However, the second season of RW did take place in Los Angeles.

The Real World house is located 6121 West Sunset Boulevard in the Columbia Square Building.

Here is a look at the cast for Real World XX:

Greg Halstead - (20 Daytona Beach, FL) Greg is the first Real World roommate to be selected by viewers, who voted online for “PretyBoy” (aka “The Chosen One”). With an unusual outlook on life — he refers to people around him as “peasants” and calls women “associates” — he is extremely competitive when it comes to sports and academics. Greg’s attitude does not make him a favorite in The Real World house, especially since he plays pranks on his roommates. Although he studied criminal justice at the University of Florida, Greg moved to Hollywood with dreams of becoming a model.

Brianna Taylor - (20 Philadelphia, PA) Brianna is a self-described “Philly girl” — she tells it like it is and doesn’t allow others to disrespect her. But beneath her tough exterior, she hides a very sensitive side. Before moving to Hollywood, Brianna worked as an exotic dancer and had a volatile relationship with her boyfriend. Her passion is singing, which led her to try out for season 5 of American Idol. Although she didn’t make the final cut, she knew she had found her calling.

William Gilbert - (23 Detroit, MI) Cute, charismatic and witty, Will is the true ladies’ man of The Real World house. In his hometown of Detroit, he worked as a DJ, performing at weddings, parties and bar mitzvahs. In Hollywood, Will plans to continue creating cool beats and showing off his moves — both on and off the dance floor. Determined to be a super-successful music producer, Will is eager to hustle and hit the streets to sell the songs he has created.

Sarah Ralston - (21 Phoenix, AZ) A recent graduate from Arizona State University, Sarah is serious about becoming a broadcast journalist. Although she’s a budding feminist, she still retains some strong conservative, traditional views. Sarah is very close to her family, and this is the first time she has lived so far from home. Her move to Hollywood has put a strain on her long-distance relationship with her boyfriend, who used to be her debate coach.

David Malinosky - (22 Waynesboro, PA) Outgoing and fun, Dave loves to be the center of attention. He’ll do just about anything for a laugh — the more shocking the better, in fact. A naturally gifted athlete, Dave likes to participate in any and all sports, from football to track to cheerleading. Yes, cheerleading. Needless to say, he is very comfortable in his skin, especially in front of the camera. That’s why Dave hopes moving to Hollywood for The Real World will be a springboard for him to become an actor or TV host.

Kimberly Alexander - (24 Columbia, SC) With her Southern belle charm and naiveté, Kimberly is sometimes perceived as a ditzy blonde. Raised in a deeply religious household in a small town, she rebelled against her parents’ restrictive rules. However, she’s not quite sure how to harness her newfound freedom and energy. Kimberly loves to be around people and have a good time, but she doesn’t always think before she speaks, and her Real World roommates often find her comments offensive. In Hollywood, Kimberly’s goal is to become the host of an entertainment show.

Joey Kovar - (24 Chicago, Il) A true blue Chicagoan, Joey has never ventured outside the state of Illinois. As a personal trainer and former bodybuilder, he is devoted to physical fitness and works out all the time. Despite staying focused, Joey is haunted by his troubled past that was riddled with addiction. He hopes The Real World will lead him down a new path so he can follow his dream of becoming an actor. But Joey’s impossibly high expectations make dealing with the ups and downs of the business difficult.

Jodie Sweetin (of Full House fame) and her husband, Cody Herpin, now have a baby girl!

Baby Zoie was delivered via C-section Saturday afternoon, and arrived weighing 8 lbs. 7 oz. and is 21 in. long.

“Jodie says that she and her husband and family are absolutely thrilled and in love with baby Zoie,” says a rep for the actress.

Sweetin announced her pregnancy in September after reportedly giving her sonograms to TMZ.com. In January, she announced to the Celebrity Baby Blog that her due date was April 6 and the baby would be a girl.

The former Full House star, 26, married set designer Cody Herpin, her second husband, in a small Las Vegas ceremony on July 14, 2007. The pair tied the knot at the Little Church of the West in front of a few friends.

Just in case you didn’t know, Betty White is still around and as amusing as ever!

White visited the Craig Ferguson show and accused Ferguson of having a penis enlargement — said “Oh Craig, what would you know about taxes… you’re an illegal immigrant!”

The teen accused of masterminding a videotaped “animalistic” attack against a fellow teenage classmate is out on bond, and she has celebrity talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw to thank for it, according to a bail bondsman.

The bondsman told media gathered at a Polk County jail Friday that Dr. Phil posted Mercedes Nichols’ $30,000 bond. Ironically, Dr. Phil had an upcoming show about teen violence slated.

When Nichols was released from jail, a man arrived and identified himself as a Dr. Phil producer and ordered local media to leave the area because the Dr. Phil Show had exclusive rights to the story, according to reporters on scene.

The man refused to comment about why Dr. Phil would help someone accused of such a violent crime leave jail, and he would not confirm if Dr. Phil paid for her bond.

A spokesperson for the Dr. Phil show issued the following statement:

“We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show - assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities. In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re: the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised.”

Needless to say, Dr. Phil’s show about teen violence has had the plug pulled on it. When is this bozo going to get a clue?

“Project Runway” diva judge Nina Garcia has been given her walking papers from her post at Elle magazine. Word on the street is that she was “let go.” However, there is no official explanation for her sudden departure.

Neither Garcia, Elle editor in chief Robbie Myers nor a spokeswoman for Elle could be reached for comment.

On Tuesday, Elle hosted a dinner with Moschino to celebrate Simon Doonan’s new book, “Eccentric Glamour: Creating an Insanely More Fashionable You”, but Garcia was notably absent.

Speculation about Garcia’s departure has swirled for months, especially after the arrival of Joe Zee at the beginning of 2007 as creative director. Last spring, Garcia left the magazine on maternity leave, and began writing a monthly fashion column for Elle upon her return. Garcia was in the office on Friday morning, but by the afternoon, sources close to the building say Hachette’s Midtown offices were abuzz about the rumor.

The editor, who has already penned one book, “The Little Black Book of Style,” is a judge on the Bravo reality show “Project Runway”, which earlier this week switched to Lifetime Television under a more lucrative contract. NBC Universal, Bravo’s owner, has sued The Weinstein Co., producer of “Project Runway,” over the move.

There’s no word on whether her departure will effect her position as a judge on Project Runway.

Miss Texas Crystle Stewart is the winner of the Miss USA 2008 pageant that was broadcast live on Friday night in Las Vegas. Stewart beat out Leah Lavaiano from Mississippi. Congrats to all of the finalists and hopefully they can avoid staying out of trouble and away from scandals in the months to follow.

The new promo ad for The CW’s Gossip Girl is more than a bit racy.  For those of you unfamiliar with the IM jargon: OMFG = ‘Oh My F***ing G*d’.

For those of you that care, you can catch new episodes of GG starting April 21st on Monday nights.

Kathie Lee Gifford, who was once part of the famed morning show duo Regis and Kathy Lee, is returning to morning time TV on NBC’s ‘Today’ show.

Gifford, 54, widely expected for several weeks to join “Today,” will co-host the newly launched fourth hour of the top-rated U.S. morning show with NBC News correspondent Hoda Kotb, starting on April 7, according to the network.

“It couldn’t be worse timing in some ways,” Gifford joked as her hiring was announced during Monday’s “Today” broadcast. “I’m eight years older, 10 pounds heavier and a half-inch shorter, and just in time for HD television. That makes no sense.”

Kathie Lee is married to all-time football great Frank Gifford and is the mother of two teenage children, Cody and Cassidy.  She is the winner of 11 daytime Emmys.

Two things are clear from this video. One is that Janet Jackson is a horrible dresser and the second being that Tyra Banks is a very bad dancer. The only thing worse might be that wig she is wearing.

Valerie Bertinelli took the chance to fire back at Oprah about kissing another woman after Oprah asked her about the passage from her new book where Bertenelli discussed passionately kissing another woman.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last night poking fun at himself and his chances of getting the Republican nomination for President.
