Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe just proved he is a very down to earth young man when he cut the crap and stated that just because he and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson are “big names”, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are good actors since they still have a lot to prove.

Daniel said, “People like me and Rob Pattinson… are at the moment big names and bankable — whatever that means. There are very few actors whose saying yes to something would mean a green light for that film.”
“I think probably George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Johnny Depp, are the only three that have that kind of pull, and that comes from how they’ve had very long careers and are universally respected as actors and as professionals. So there’s a long way to go before we’re at that stage.”
“I know that people, generally speaking, have only seen me in one role, and I need to prove to them that I can do other stuff.”
Agreed. Being popular isn’t a synonym of talent, but in their case we would all agree Daniel and Robert aren’t just the pretty faces associated with massive movie franchises like Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga.

Rob and Dan are both good young actors who are just starting to build their long and successful acting careers based on huge fanbases (Potterheads and Twi-hards). They are most likely the next generation of powerful Hollywood actors.
The 22 year-old “The Woman in Black” actor confessed the Harry Potter fame is allowing him to work on projects he truly loves and not worry about the financial outcome.
“I’m in a position now where I am very fortunate financially on Potter, so I don’t have to work for the money now, and I can just do things that interest me. I like the idea of not having to do stuff for the money, and if I want to, I can pick indie projects for the rest of my life and be quite happy doing that,” he said.
Daniel also wants to be more than the Potter kid, but knows it will take time for people to start seeing him as a flexible and talented actor. Harry Potter is over. Daniel knows it’s not an easy transition.
“I was never under any illusions that this would be the one film that I would do and everyone would say “Oh, he’s no longer Harry Potter”. I don’t think that’s going to happen, but I think it will start that. I think I look very different in this film, I think it’s a very different type of performance that I give.”
