Here is Nike’s new commercial for the USA men’s Olympic basketball team. The footage is backdropped with Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem at the 1983 NBA All-Star game. I posted Marvin’s performance last year ago here on Bump. To me it is easily the most moving rendition of the song. I am not a fan of Nike, but I do have to say “job well done” to the sneaker giants.
Actress Eva Mendes stars in a new perfume ad for Calvin Klein that has been banned from American TV for exposing Eva’s nipple as she rolls around naked under a sheet according to Gawker.
“You must be kidding me. This country really needs a new president — this country is so messed up,” said Baron. “It’s such a joke and it’s quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It’s OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea.
“She is being a little sexy, but they are not provocative,” added Baron. “They are really well done. The spot is really beautiful — I really can’t believe this is happening.…I don’t know what else to say.”
So it seems that creative director Fabien Baron might be a bit European wouldn’t you say. Maybe CK needs a new creative director. In the video Eva is rolling around naked in bed covered only by a sheet. As if this took all that much creativity and hasn’t been done a hundred times over. The best it was ever done was in the Faith Hill video for ‘Breath’ from several years ago.

Oliver Stone has released the trailer for his new controversial political movie ‘W’ which is about President George W. Bush. The screenplay is by Stanley Weiser and stars Josh Brolin as George W, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney, James Cromwell as George Herbert Walker Bush, and Scott Glenn as Donald Rumsfield.
John McCain uses clips of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in his latest campaign commercial ad to show that rival Presidential candidate Barack Obama is just a popular celebrity like they are and not ready to lead the country. It’s starting to heat up folks! Get ready for an intense three months from both Barack and John. Be sure to watch the video above. It is creative if nothing else.
Here is a video trailer for the much anticipated upcoming film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It looks to be just as good as its predecessors and is going to do a killing at the box office regardless. The film is reported to be released on November 21, 2008. The official trailer (above, I hope) kept the internet hopping all day until its release.
A very disturbing fight took place last night in the Minor Leagues after Julio Castillo beaned two hitters in the first inning, the second in the head. The managers then argued with the umpire before Dayton’s manager Donnie Scott shoved Peoria’s manager Carmelo Martinez.That is when Castillo (pitcher) lost his mind and hurled a fastball into the opposing team’s dugout that missed and injured a fan in the stands. He is then was jumped by the opposing team and beaten to pieces.
He was arrested on the spot and charged with felony assault. Seventeen players ended up being ejected from the game between Dayton Dragons (Reds) and Peoria Chiefs (Cubs). Castillo likely will be suspended for the rest of the season. He was to appear before a judge this morning.
College professor Randy Pausch who lived well and inspired millions with his ‘last lecture’ and book ‘The Last Lecture’ has succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 47-years old. He leaves behind his wife Jai and three children.
With the help of Wall Street Journal columnist Jeffrey Zaslow, Dr. Pausch wrote a book, “The Last Lecture,” which was published earlier this year. He elaborated on his lecture and emphasized the value he placed on hard work and learning from criticism. His words were intended as a legacy for his young children.
In May, Dr. Pausch spoke at the Carnegie Mellon University commencement. He said a friend recently told him he was “beating the [Grim] Reaper” because it’s now been nine months since his doctor told him he would die in six.
“But we don’t beat the Reaper by living longer. We beat the Reaper by living well,” said Dr. Pausch, who urged the graduates to find and pursue their passion. He put an exclamation point at the end of his remarks by kissing his wife, Jai, and carrying her off stage.
Randy seemed to have everything in perspective and instead of whining and complaining he used his battle with cancer to inspire millions more to to the exact same. His book ‘The Last Lecture’ is in our home and has been on the NYT Bestseller list for numerous weeks.

Hot headed IRL driver Danica Patrick got into another heated skirmish on pit row on Sunday. This time it was with fellow woman driver Milka Duno.
The video is pretty funny. It is not the first time she had got in an argument on pit row with another driver. Earlier this year she went after Dan Wheldon.
Patrick, albeit finally won a race two months ago at the Indy Japan 300, wouldn’t be known in the sport, regardless of sex if it weren’t for her posing in bikini swimsuits, losing her cool with other drivers, or running over pit crew member Charles Buckman. She does draw attention to her sport though, something that is hard to do with the IRL.

For the second year in a row Miss USA fell during the Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam. This year it was Miss USA Crystle Stewart who tripped and fell smack dab on her pageant booty. She did recover rather nicely from her fall.
Last year it was Miss USA Rachel Smith who fell in Mexico City (watch video).
We have ranted on and on about how bad The Love Guru happens to be. This clip showing Mike Myers (The Love Guru) giving Jessica Simpson a mini-orgasm by placing his hands briefly on her head goes to illustrate just how off target this film is.
I have never played ‘Halo’ the video game, but I did lose a few friends to the game back in college. In this clip this little kid has made every weapon from the popular video game out of cardboard. Yes, it is true all of his friends might laugh at him now, but he will very likely get the last laugh with his bank account later on in life.

The amateur shot video above shows a crazed and perhaps staged fan ripping the wig off of rocker Marilyn Manson’s head and running off. A shocked and embarrassed Manson covers his bald head as he is escorted away by security.
The incident took place at the Festival de Rock les Eurockeennes de Belfort.
Funny man Jim Carrey had some fun with the paparazzi when he decided to don his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy’s swimsuit and prance up and down the beach in it.
An amazingly super-duper catch by a ball girl during a minor league baseball game. She climbed the wall in foul ground and made one of the best catches of all-time. Except, well this is fake and a viral advertisement that has served its purpose and garnered a ton of attention. Somebody will be getting a raise.
Tim McGraw took the law into his own hands at his concert last night (see video above). A rowdy male fan was all over a female on the front row and Tim called security after pulling him off the woman. McGraw then helped pull the male on stage and shoved him in the back as security was escorting him off. The fan said something and Tim cocked his fist before security wisely escorted the fan off stage as he tipped his hat to the crowd. Not much of a fight but Tim was more than ready to protect his female fans.

Motley Crue was on Greta Van Sustren’s ‘On the Record with Greta’ on Fox News last night to promote their new album ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ which dropped in record stores today. She had them on for a good bit and the boys were a bit defiant as usual, but then Tommy Lee took it to an entirely trashier level when he asked Greta “What color panties are you wearing?”

The latest commercial featuring Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant for his new Nike basketball shoe. In the video Kobe jumps over a kiddie pool full of snakes after a midget and skateboarder fail in doing so. The snake jump is probably a CGI masterpiece but is funny regardless.
Earlier this month the video of Kobe jumping over an Aston Martin hit the net as well.
